Arsenal legend Ray Parlour says that Arsenal have not been good enough this season and admitted they ‘deserve to finish below Burnley.’

Goal, using quotes given on TalkSport, write that the45-year-old has not been impressed by his old team’s performances this season.

Parlour said:

Arsenal have not been good enough this season. They have been poor away from home and their form in the Premier League has not been good enough for Arsenal’s standards. That’s a real worry for Arsenal fans.

Parlour, known as the Romford Pele, made 313 Premier League appearances for the Gunners over a 12 year spell, winning the league on three occasions.

The North London club have failed to win an away Premier League game in 2018, and that dip in form means Burnley are now firmly on their tail in the race for sixth place.

With 33 games played, Burnley are only two points behind Arsenal in the table, with Sean Dyche’s men being the surprise package of the campaign.

One positive for the Gunners is that they have made it through to the semi-finals of the Europa League, although they have been handed an extremely tough draw against Atletico Madrid.

Winning said competition now looks to be Arsene Wenger’s side’s only chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Parlour added:

The Atletico Madrid game is absolutely massive to get into the Champions League next year, and if they play like they have been playing away from home, they’ll get beaten over the two legs.

Do Burnley deserve to finish higher? The league doesn’t lie. If Burnley do finish above Arsenal in the table, they deserve to, yes. Simple.
