ARSENAL boss Unai Emery is furious over the continued uncertainty surrounding the future of Ivan Gazidis and wants the matter settled as soon as possible, according to reports.
Arsenal fans have held Gazidis in contempt for a number of years after a series of poor seasons which have seen the Gunners drop out of the top four.
One detail many were upset with was his perseverance with Arsene Wenger, who lost the support of large sections of Arsenal fans.
As well as transfers, there have been key members added to the backroom staff – including Sven Mislintat as head of recruitment.
It lifted the mood at the Emirates but that was brought back down following rumours that Gazidis could leave for AC Milan.
The chief executive informed Arsenal’s board last month that he has received an offer to join the Serie A club, who were taken over this summer by a hedge fund run by his friend Paul Singer.
Gazidis joined Arsenal nine years ago and is widely respected among the European football fraternity given his position on the board of the European Club Association as well as being on several Fifa, Uefa and FA committees.
However, after this summer it looked like the South African businessman was finally winning the supporters around.
After Emery was picked as Wenger’s replacement, a number of transfers were made including Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.
Arsenal have had to come out and deny rumours that he had formally given the club notice.
But according to The Times, frustration has grown among the ranks – with boss Emery said to be considerably irritated by the lack of clarity.
The former Paris St-Germain boss used to meet Gazidis every day during the summer as they spoke about transfer targets and recruitment.
