Unai Emery says he has not sought out Arsene Wenger for advice on managing Arsenal.
The Spaniard replaced his predecessor at the beginning of the summer and has already made his mark with no less than five new signings.
“Each coach needs to know the players. Not all the coaches have the same relationship with a player and I have my personality,” he told a news conference.
“I want to know with my direct opinion, with my direct conversations with the player.
“I have information on the players from the club, from the people around me. The information with Arsene is also important for me, but the best is my direct relationship and conversations with the players.”
Emery, most recently welcomed the Gunners’ latest signing Matteo Guendouzi to his squad.
Many Arsenal fans were disappointed to see Jack Wilshere move on, but that pain would be eased should Emery tie down Aaron Ramsey to a new deal. The Welshman has just one year to run on his current contract.
