Midfielder Glen Kamara has revealed the reasons for his move from Arsenal to Dundee this summer, explaining he was desperate for more playing time and a new challenge.
The 21-year-old joined Arsenal from Southend in 2012 and made just one senior appearance for the club. Kamara was loaned back to Southend and Colchester during his time with the Gunners before signing a two-year deal with Dundee.
“I came here for a new challenge,” he said, reports the Evening Telegraph. “I wanted to get some more game time for myself, playing more regularly and getting into the team. It’s a bit different up here than at Arsenal but that’s part of the challenge and I’m looking forward to getting cracking.
“I’ve followed the bigger games in the Premiership, I’ve watched a few of the games on TV but I’m looking forward to taking on some of the teams up here. Hopefully, the bigger games bring the best out of me. I’ll have to wait and see but I’m really excited to be at Dundee.”
The Finnish U21 international will now be looking to resurrect his career in Scotland provided he can get regular playing to each week to continue developing.
