Jack Wilshere has insisted that Arsenal are not yet out of the title race, the Evening Standard reports.

The Gunners have endured a difficult start to the season, and find themselves in 6th place having played 11 games. Manchester City lead the way at the moment, and are already a huge 12 points ahead of Arsenal.

We’re still only in November, we have to keep working hard, keep plugging away, picking up points at home. You know, our home form is tremendous, away form needs to improve a bit but we’re going to be fighting to win the league ultimately, we don’t feel it’s over.

City are doing really well at the moment, they’ve set the benchmark. We know it’s a tough league with high quality in it and City are top at the moment, but we’ve got to keep working hard.

Wilshere has enjoyed a promising run of form since coming back into the fold. He has featured mainly in cup competitions, with some impressive displays in the Europa League so far, and is hoping to kick on for the rest of the season.

The midfielder has his sights set on a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad ahead of this summer’s World Cup, but he’ll know that he has to feature on a more regular basis to force his way into the international picture.

Wilshere has been linked with a move away in January, but reports indicate that Arsenal want to keep him in North London, and could offer him a new deal.
