What i think of Chamberlain transfer request – Arsene Wenger

Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League competition but there is uncertainty over the future of several key players.

ARSENE WENGER hopes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be at Arsenal next season.

Reports emerged last night suggesting Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to leave the Gunners.

The 23-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot under Wenger over the years and he has become frustrated at a lack of opportunities.

According to Sky Sports, Oxlade-Chamberlain wants a fresh start somewhere else in the hope of reigniting his career.

But the midfielder is under contract with the Gunners until next summer and Wenger wants him to remain at the Emirates.

Wenger said: “I haven’t seen that. I am surprised.

“I believe that he has developed well and has been given his chance.

“I rate him highly and I have showed that how I kept faith with him when he was injured.

“I hope he stays here. He is a very promising player.

“He looks to have the values we want at this club.”

According to the Daily Mail, Oxlade-Chamberlain won’t be short of offers in the summer with Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool all reportedly keen on his services
