The transfer window has just slammed shut but another one will be opening in a little over 3 months time and call has gone out to Wenger to add to his squad. Former Arsenal defender Viv Anderson has revealed that he expects Arsene Wenger to spend again in January.
“Signing Mesut Ozil is a big lift for everyone at the football club,”
“They have talked, over the years, about needing top class players and they’ve never gone out and bought them and we thought it would be the same this year.
“It went right to the last minute but he has been a great acquisition and I think they’ll go again in the January transfer window to strengthen them even more.

It is a known fact that Arsenal are still short in attack especially the central striking position and reports have it that Wenger is keen on signing a striker in the winter window. While it is very likely that he will sign a new striker in the winter window, it is uncertain if he will be another big money acquisition like Ozil.
Arsenal have been linked with moves for Rooney and Suarez but their clubs are reluctant selling to a domestic rival that Arsenal represents. One thing is sure Arsenal will be monitoring their situations ahead of a winter raid but if Wenger fails to get them in the winter window and should the contractual impasse remain, he will yet try again next summer.
Owing to this, Wenger might be reluctant spending big on a striker in the winter window and choose to keep the money for a summer raid. How then does he bolster the attack? I believe he can make a loan move for some strikers. Strikers like Demba Ba and Fernando Llorente could be available for a loan move in January and Arsenal could well poised to get them if Wenger moves in early enough. Ba has confessed he was ready to join Arsenal in the summer but chose to stay back and fight for his place at Chelsea after Mourinho blocked the move. For now, that might be fine but things could be different in January if Ba doesn’t play ample games in the remaining months this year. Ditto for Llorente too.
