Arsenal manage Arsene Wenger has delivered a news that is sure to break Arsenal fans’ heart. Earlier this week, high rated and multi-national midfielder Gedion Zelalem posted on his social media account on twitter that he is back to training and many Arsenal fans were hoping will be playing for the gunners later today when Arsenal take on Chelsea in the 4th round of the Capital one cup.
However, Arsene Wenger claims the player is not close to making a return back to the team. This simply means the player has suffered a set back in his bid to make a return to Arsenal’s first team.
Talking to Arsenal player, Wenger said :
“He is not yet available. He had a knee problem. He is back in full training but he has not played yet. He will play 45 minutes with the under-18 team later this week.”
Zelalem had a fine performance for Arsenal during the club’s tour of Asia but hasn’t make a single appearance for the gunners in the season proper as a result of a knee injury he couped 4 weeks ago. He missed Arsenal’s first capital one cup match this season – the penalty shoot out win over West Brom in the 3rd round of the league cup.
