Aaron Ramsey has urged Arsenal to look back at their recent performances to help inspire them to victory over Borussia Dortmund. The club travel to Germany in the search of a victory that would put them back on top of their Champions League group.
Dortmund inflicted Arsenal’s first European defeat of the season two weeks ago that blew their Champions League group wide open but victory over Liverpool helped Arsenal recover their confidence as they look to seek revenge in Germany.
The club’s defeat to Dortmund was only their second loss since March, with their loss to Chelsea a week later totaling three defeats. The victory over Liverpool has helped install confidence back in to the squad as they continue on their current tough fixture list with Dortmund, Manchester United & Southampton to follow.
“It is the first of two huge away games for us. First Dortmund and then away to Man Utd. Very tough.”
“Our Champions League group is now very open with three teams on six points. I thought we played well enough to get something from the home game with Dortmund.”
Ramsey wants Arsenal to look back to their last visit to Germany to help inspire them to another famous victory.
“Last year we beat Bayern Munich 2-0 in their own stadium so we have that experience to draw on and we have been to Dortmund in the past.”
The Gunners faced Borussia Dortmund in their Champions League of 2011, beating them 2-1 at home after a 1-1 draw in Germany courtesy of a very late equaliser for Dortmund and so the Gunners have plenty of experience to use when they visit the ferocious Signal Iduna Park.
