ARSENAL boss Unai Emery has revealed his delight at Alexandre Lacazette’s performance in today’s win against Cardiff.
The Gunners survived two fightbacks at the Cardiff City Stadium to secure their second consecutive Premier League win.
Shkodran Mustafi powered home a first-half header to give them the lead, before strikes from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Lacazette secured all three points.
Aubameyang has struggled to get going in recent weeks and after improving when paired with Lacazette off the bench, Emery opted to use them as a front two.
The gamble paid off as the big-money signings linked up well against Cardiff.
Lacazette’s clever flick found his strike partner in the second half and Aubameyang opened his account for the season by bending a wonderful effort past Neil Etheridge.
And Emery was delighted with the duo, singling out Lacazette, who scored the winner nine minutes from time.
“Very pleased,” he said when asked his thoughts on the Frenchman’s performance.
“I spoke with him because I know him at Lyon.
“I know he has a big capacity to score in the box and when the team gives him good options.
“He has good data to score and today he showed us. It’s good for his confidence.
“They (Aubameyang and Lacazette) are playing minutes each match and today they started.
“We are continuing to work on the combinations. Today I think the two players scored goals and helped us.
