Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger has hinted that he will actually be making new signings into his current team. Talking to the press men after his Arsenal side defeated Manchester City in Finland in their last pre-season game, the Arsenal manager alluded to the fact that he has a thin squad and would need some more additions if he is to favourably compete next season.
“I think what is important is the strength of the squad. Today is one game. We want to play 55 games and we are maybe a bit thin squad-wise to go through a whole season.” Wenger to Journalist.
From the statement above, it is obvious the Arsenal manager is still keen to make additions to this team. It however remains to be seen whether he will be bringing in world class players or some average players as has been the case in the last 6 years at Arsenal.
The Gunners have been linked to several players in the current transfer window but no tangible addition have been made to the squad this window so far. Although they have signed French under 20 striker Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre on a free transfer, Arsenal fans are crying out loud for further additions to the team.
