Now that Xhaka has been announced, Arsene Wenger is pulling out all stops in a bid to strengthen his squad and make them ready to compete for titles next season.
Wenger has been said to be looking for a striker and a defender to add to his squad and according to reports made by Spanish outlet Fichajes this morning, Arsenal have their eyes on 23-year-old left-back Djibril Sidibé.
Sidibé started 36 of Lille’s 38 games in the Ligue 1 this past season, mostly as a left-back, but also played sometimes as a right-back and on both wings. With Kieran Gibbs expected to leave this summer, Sidibé is seen as a possible competition for Nacho Monreal who made the left-back position his own last season.
Arsenal have already sent out officials to contact Lille OSC officials and ask about the availability of Sidibé. Djibril Sidibé scored six goals and made three assists last season. He is currently valued at €15 million (£11m) according to reports by Fichajes.
