According to Daily Mirror, Arsenal have permitted Dutch goalkeeper Guy Smith to embark on a two week trial at the Emirate club.
The Arsenal boss is set to bolster the first team squad to enable the club competes favorably for the English Premier League title next season. With the French man’s future at the London club under serious scrutiny, the boss has quickly moved to capture the signature of some of the best talents available in the world.
Wenger had earlier signed Japanese youngster Takuma Asano and he is now set to hand the Netherlands international goalkeeper Guy Smith an opportunity to prove himself in a two-week trial at the London club.
The 20 year old goal tender, whose contract at NEC Nimegen expired at the end of June has since attracted interest from numerous clubs in England, including Arsen Wenger tutored Arsenal.
With Petr Cech’s back up now uncertain, the youngster seems to know what is at stake and he is set to take this chance and impress Wenger.
“This opportunity I have to seize,” Smith said.
