After signing Granit Xhaka, Arsenal’s next summer signing could well be Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga best player of the year could be joining Arsenal this summer after reports confirmed he has received very tempting offers from the Premier League and with he now rejecting a new contract offer from Dortmund, it appears Arsenal have managed to turn his head.
Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger was said to have met with the player’s agent early this month which means the Frenchman is very serious about signing the Armenian and rightly so, after such a poor season by Theo Walcott, it is probably time to finally get rid of Walcott and bring in someone better. We have also been linked with a move for Riyad Mahrez which is a big indication that Wenger is probably keen on bringing in a wing forward.
Mkhitaryan scored 19 goals and created 24 assists last season whilst playing on the wing rather than his primary 10 role at Dortmund. His versatility will be very useful should he sign for Arsenal. The fact that Mkhitaryan is likely to be available on the cheap makes it even pausible that he could become a Gunner as Wenger likes cheap players.
