Arsenal winger Joel Campbell is hoping to make his loan move to Real Betis permanent, when his contract with the Gunners expires next summer.

The Costa Rican international has had six different loan spells during his six years at the London club, and speaking after making his first appearance of the season for his latest team, he expressed a desire to remain in La Liga once his season long loan comes to an end. He is quoted by the Sun as saying:

“I will try to give my best this season, (hopefully) in the end the club is happy with what I do and they want to bet on me.”

Campbell had been sidelined with a knee injury since picking up the problem in the CONCACAF Gold Cup back in July. He has already had one loan spell at Betis, and he marked his second debut for his new team with a goal in a 6-3 defeat to Valencia at the weekend.

The forward signed for Arsenal from Saprissa back in 2011, having spells on loan at Lorient, Olympiakos, Villareal, Sporting Lisbon and Betis. He was however given one season to impress with the Gunners. The 2015/16 campaign saw him play 31 games, scoring four goals and providing six assists.
