Fenerbahce representatives have reportedly jetted to London to speak with Arsenal over a move for David Ospina following his recent comments.
As Daily Cannon reported yesterday, Ospina recently gave an interview to Fanatik in which he revealed that he’s told Arsenal that he wants to leave this summer in search of regular first team football.
“I told my club [Arsenal] that I want to go to a team where I’ll play regularly. They know my intention,” he said.
“If the right offer comes, then I’ll happily come to Turkey.
“My agent is taking care of transfer business. In fact, I’m happy at Arsenal but I have to play regularly.
“I told them exactly that. Arsenal’s board told me they will not be making things difficult for me if the right offer comes in.
“Let’s see what the future brings.”
The goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move to Turkish club, Fenerbahce, with the Turkish press insisting that personal terms have already been met.
Now Fotospor [via the Daily Star] are claiming that Fenerbahce representatives have flown to London to discuss a proposed four-year deal for the Colombia international.
While it’s thought that the Turkish club are willing to pay £3m for the 28-year-old, who has two years left on his Arsenal deal, according to Fotospor, this detail still has to be hashed out, which is why they’ve flown over for talks.
Although there’s not exactly any new information here, it does seem as if a deal is edging closer.
