ARSENAL target Ever Banega has told Unai Emery he wants a mammoth £7m-a-year three-year deal – and the Gunners could be willing to pay up, according to reports in Spain.
But the north Londoners are cash strapped and any significant transfer business looks unlikely.
It’s suggested the Premier League heavyweights are willing to entertain his demands.
Banega was initially reluctant to move midway through the season.
But Arsenal’s flexibility in negotiations means he is now reconsidering.
When asked about his reported interest in the Argentina international yesterday, Emery said: “I know this player and he is a very good player.
“I cannot tell you more.”
When asked about Arsenal’s strategy during the January window, Emery admitted his hands are tied: “We cannot sign permanently.
“Only loan players. I don’t know his [Denis Suarez’s] situation now.
“We can only sign players later on.
