The tale of Arsenal transfer reports is such that you hardly believe that a player is signed unless you see them being unveiled with their Jerseys.
At the start of this week, there were reports that Mustafi had completed a move to Arsenal but his dad said the bloke that announced that an agreement was reached is no longer the player’s agent, hence, Arsenal had no agreement with the player.
However, there’s another twist to the report. Mustafi senior is quoted by Sport1 in Germany as saying, “We are in good discussions with Arsenal. From an agreement but cannot be any talk.”
Goal also claims Arsenal will complete the deal for the player within the next 72 hours following a verbal agreement between the player and Arsenal.
The 24-year-old Valencia defender has been courted by Arsene Wenger’s side for several weeks and identified as the man to fill the void left by injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.
Both sides are yet to agree on a transfer fee, likely to be in the region of £25m plus add-ons, but Mustafi’s agent Ali Bulut and father Kujtim have been in London over the past 48 hours where the player’s personal terms were ironed out
The player is understood to have a release clause of 42million Pounds but we understand that Valencia will accept an offer of 30million pounds for the player.
