Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Turkish club Antalyaspor over the potential sale of midfielder Jack Wilshere this summer. The England international is currently recovering from a leg fracture which he sustained during his season-long loan spell with Bournemouth last term.
The 25-year-old has suffered a series of injuries over the course of his career, and this has hampered his chances of establishing himself as a regular at the Emirates. Wilshere fell out-of-favour under Arsene Wenger early last season, and he therein opted to join the Cherries, where he found some of his old form.
In spite of this, Wilshere ended the season on a worryful note after he sustained a hairline leg fracture versus Tottenham Hotspur of all clubs, which has ruled out for the initial stages of the new campaign.
Serie A club Sampdoria had failed with an initial £6m plus add-ons for Wilshere earlier this month and Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol claims that Antalyaspor are the latest to have expressed an interest in the playmaker.
Wilshere has less than a year left on his £90,000-a-week contract, but it appears that the Gunners are unlikely to sell on the cheap with a £20m price tag placed on the midfielder’s head.
Meanwhile, a report from The Independent cites that Wilshere would prefer to remain in the English top-flight with West Ham a potential destination during this summer’s transfer window.
Wilshere has notched 12 goals in 159 outings for Arsenal since making his debut as a 16-year-old against Blackburn Rovers back in 2008.
