As the transfer market winds down, we hope Arsenal are not waiting for the closing day of the transfer market to sign a player. I think whatever transfers that need to be done by Wenger should be done on time so that players can bed into the team on time.
According to footballinsider are considering signing England international and Crystal Palace centre-back Scott Dan – this follows from Wenger’s desire to reinforce in defensive line.
The tough-tackling defender joined Crystal Palace in the January of 2014 and instantly became a mainstay in the squad. He scored 5goals in 36games for the club last season.
The Gunners will have to fend off interest from Premier League rivals Everton, who are looking at other possible recruits after a 10million Pounds bid was rejected for Swansea Captain Ashley Williams, according to Skysport.
Dan is 31-years-old. Knowing who Wenger is, I don’t think he would want to sign a defender of that age giving the fact that he’s passed his peak.
Former Newcastle boss Pardew is under no pressure to sell his star defender though, with four years still remaining on the extension the former England under-21 international signed last summer.
