ARSENAL midfielder Jack Wilshere could be in line for a shock move to Sampdoria, according to reports.
Wilshere, 25, has just 12 months remaining on his Arsenal contract and has been linked with a summer transfer.
He spent last season on loan at Bournemouth in a bid to secure regular game time after falling down the pecking order at the Emirates.
The England international made 29 Premier League appearances for the Cherries, but his progress was scuppered by a broken leg he suffered in April.
Wilshere has since returned to Arsenal, but his future at the club remains unclear.
And Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Italian side Sampdoria are ready to swoop.
It is said the Serie A side have contacted the Gunners about a possible deal.
And Arsenal are apparently willing to part ways with him for just £8.9million.
The report adds Sampdoria are also in hot pursuit of Sassuolo defender Gian Marco Ferrari.
It is said an offer of £5.3m has been made.
West Ham have also been linked with a move for Wilshere, but club chief David Gold played down interest in him last month.
When asked about the link to Wilshere, Gold told talkSPORT: “We are interested in all good players but we have to face the facts here – we have got good midfielders.
“We have got a good defence, we have got good midfielders, we have got good wingers.
“We need strikers and that is the key to everything for this season so we are focused first and foremost on bringing in two strikers.”
