Ivan Gazidis could leave Arsenal for AC Milan – and Gunners fans are baffled.

The Arsenal chief executive was approached by the Serie A club to become their new CEO last month, and told the Gunners he is considering their offer and could leave.

Speculation is growing in Italy that Gazidis will make the switch to the San Siro as early as next month, despite Arsenal keen to keep hold of the 53-year-old.

According to unconfirmed reports Gazidis has already made his mind up and will accept the offer from Milan, which was made by American hedge fund Elliott Management, following their takeover of the Italian giants in July.

Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick recently released a statement on the situation.

“We are aware of the speculation surrounding our chief executive Ivan Gazidis,” he said. “We know he receives many offers from organisations inside and outside the game as he’s a hugely respected figure.

“He has never accepted any of these opportunities and has never spoken about them publicly. He has always been fully committed to taking Arsenal forward and is currently working with our new head coach Unai Emery as we prepare for the new season.”
