Sanchez Starts: 3-4-2-1 formation, Arsenal strongest line-up to face Liverpool

Arsenal will seek to get back to winning ways when they make the visit to Anfield to take on rivals Liverpool. The Gunners have failed to win any of their last four meetings with the Reds whilst their away record stretches longer with no victory since September 2012.

The Gunners failed to make most of their chances against Stoke City in the disappointing 1-0 defeat but Arsene Wenger will be boosted by the prospect of playing Alexis Sanchez, who was surprisingly benched at Merseyside last time around.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

 Lineup:

Petr Cech was fairly quiet at Stoke barring the only goal he conceded. He will surely retain his place as the first-choice goalkeeper. Hector Bellerin did not look at home in the left wing-back position, and he could be dropped in place of Sead Kolasinac, who has played at centre-back in the first two games. Oxlade-Chamberlain showed his tireless work-rate during the course of the Stoke defeat and he is likely to fill in at right wing-back.

Shkodran Mustafi is currently the subject of transfer interest from Inter Milan but Wenger could still back in to start alongside Nacho Monreal whilst vice-captain Laurent Koscielny should return to the lineup following his two-match suspension lasting from the previous season.

Granit Xhaka has been at question for all four goals conceded by Arsenal this term. But given Wenger’s persistence, he could start the Swiss once again in midfield alongside Aaron Ramsey, who deserved a goal at least for his performance at Stoke.

Mesut Ozil had another frustrating showing on the road but Wenger has come in the defence of his Germany international. With Sanchez likely to be fit, Ozil could come more into his own, and this leaves Danny Welbeck on the bench.

Alexandre Lacazette was wrongfully adjudged offside after finding the net against Stoke, but he will seek to put in another performance on his first trip to Merseyside.
