With the need to sign a Striker this summer, Arsene Wenger has looked towards the Belgians team and picked up Romelu Lukaku to be an assistant to Olivier Giruod.
Lukaku who bundled for himself 18 goals last season as he placed 4th behind Vardy who had 24 goals. Arsene is in the chase to get Vardy from league champions and has be reported to be in the chase for Vardy’s goal ‘deputy’ from last season’s goals table.
The 23-year old recently talked his way through after Metro quoted him as saying:
‘I’ll go to a club that will give me the chance to be part of a great project. I’m only 23, I still have to improve.
‘But I want to win titles, because that’s what we remember at the end of a career.
‘The press has reported a total of 80 million euros (£63.2m), given the number of goals I’ve scored the last two seasons and the investment that the Everton club has made in me, it is a price.
‘But in fact I do not even know if this is the true price! That’s what the media says.
‘I know however that I’ve scored a lot of goals in my young career. We’ll see the price. It will be 80 million euros, maybe less.’
Arsenal might want to snap up the Belgian striker now that no one is looking at his direction. But the question is, Will Wenger want to spend as much as £60 million for Lukaku?
I think Lukaku will fit into the Arsenal setup, he has the pace and power, his positioning will be a great tool for Ozil to explore.
