English Premier League club Arsenal has since been in the market to sign more defensive players this summer and were hoping to secure the signature of Ricardo Rodriguez from Bundesliga outfit VFL Wolfsburg.
Ricardo Rodriguez ‘s agent has now made it known that the youngster has an active release clause in his current contract, which Arsenal can now trigger if they still have interest in signing him up from Wolfsburg. This is an encouraging news for the Gunners, as they look to beef up their current squad.
The Wolfsburg man has since been haunted by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and report has it that £19m is enough to secure his signature to England. This would see the Swiss International left-back join his international teammate Granit Xhaka at Arsenal.
His Agent, Gianluca Di Domenico while talking to Italian outlet TMW Radio, spoke about the players future with Wolfsburg and he stated, “Today, Ricardo Rodriguez has a termination clause, which was not there before. You have to respect the contracts.”
The agent further added the possibility that the young left back could move to the Italian Serie A in the near future, with AS Roma showing interest to sign him this summer as well.
Arsene Wenger is well aware that he needs to add some more quality to his defence line, if he wants to win titles, and Ricardo Rodriguez is not just a defence minded player, but can burst forward, attack and score goals as well.
He also possess quality passing, crossing and finishing ability, which is enough attribute needed to player for an Arsene Wenger tutored side.
