Arsene Wenger’s press conference was interrupted by a dictaphone while speaking on Arsenal’s victory over Chelsea.
A dominant performance from the team saw Arsenal up by three goals in the first half.
goals from Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil saw the Gunners secure a comprehensive win over Antonio Conte’s men and Wenger was in jovial spirits as he arrived for media duties post-game.
Awaiting the first question, the Frenchman identified a dictaphone in front of him replaying a recorded telephone call.
“It’s for you,” a journalist told the Arsenal boss, before he responded: “It’s your wife!”
Another member of the media then quipped, “It’s Jose.”
The Frenchman went on to hail his side’s performance after ending a five-year wait for victory over Chelsea in the Premier League.
“It’s one of the best performances in recent years,” he said
“We have had to deal with some inconvenient facts… we couldn’t beat Chelsea for years. To get that out of the system was at stake today.”
