Judging by the intensity of the reports in the media in the last one week, Arsenal have practically signed Jamie Vardy. The deal is done in my personal opinion. All Arsenal and Leicester are doing at the moment if you ask me is to make Leicester City fans think Leicester actually tried hard to keep Vardy. All media reports claim Vardy has accepted a four years contract offer from Arsenal worth £120,000 a week, why then should he reject Arsenal?
The delay is simply Arsenal like. Knowing Arsenal, they deliberately let deals drag on even when they are done simply because of PR. By letting deals drag on the club seems to be making money and also diverting the media’s attention from other transfer businesses they are working on.
I will be shocked if the vardy deal breaks down. It seems too far already. However, a shocking report in the Daily mirror today have it that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was given the opportunity of signing Jamie Vardy last month but the Frenchman reportedly rejected the opportunity.
Then on Friday, he sanctioned the move to trigger Vardy’s release clause. Odd right? I personal think the reason why this is so is because Arsenal have other bigger targets but found out they could sign Mkhitaryan and since the club has limited budget decided to go for the Armenian and a cheaper striker in Jamie Vardy or maybe they couldn’t get their other most glamourous targets and then decided to come back in for Vardy.
