After having been linked with a move to so many players and signing one of them in Granit Xhaka, Arsenal have been dealt their first summer transfer window if a report by British daily the Echo is anything to go by.
According to the British media outlet, Arsenal target Mikael Ndjol is not joining the club any more despite Arsenal thinking they have gotten him. The player is instead on his way to Bournemouth having accepted an offer from the Eddie Howe managed club.
The highly rated player was linked with a move to both Arsenal and Crystal Palace, Bournemouth were until now not in the race for the player’s signature. Now he is reportedly off to play for the Cherries.
This will be a big blow to Arsenal under 21 and under 18 side. Mikael Ndjol would have offered the likes of Donyell Malen, Edward Nketiah and co.
And if this report is true, this will be a sort of rude awakening for Arsenal as it is unthinkable for youngsters to reject Arsenal for a club like Arsenal. Maybe Chelsea and City because of money but what will be the attraction at Bournemouth? It is obvious, the standard of our academy has dropped and the earlier the club does something about it, the better.
