According to a report from Polish outlet Przeglad Sportowy, Arsenal are monitoring young Legia Warsaw goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki and could be plotting a potential January bid for the stopper.
The Gunners have improved their goalkeeper ranks this season with the acquisition of Bernd Leno, despite the German making a costly mistake at Southampton at the weekend.
And it appears that they could soon agree a deal for the player that they are hoping could become a potential successor to Petr Cech as Leno’s understudy.
Przeglad Sportowy reports that the Gunners are watching Majecki, and may look to push ahead with a January deal that would see the 19-year-old loaned back to Legia for the rest of the season.
Legia do not want to lose the teenager, who has made six league appearances this season. But the report suggests that their financial situation could force them to listen to offers for some of their key players.
Majecki – who was born just a few days before a Marc Overmars hat-trick and Dennis Bergkamp brace helped Arsenal to a 5-1 win over Middlesbrough at Highbury – may not be someone that Unai Emery is looking to to make an immediate impact if he signs during the January window, but perhaps he is a name for Gunners fans to keep an eye on in the coming years.
