Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed the club have reached an agreement with Arsenal over a January move for Carl Jenkinson.

The full-back now looks set to leave the club imminently after falling out of favour, with the latest reports suggesting it is a permanent deal.

Manager Arsene Wenger has already admitted Jenkinson would depart this winter and he now looks set to be thrust into a relegation battle with the struggling Eagles.

Sam Allardyce, who is yet to taste victory since replacing Alan Pardew at the helm, confirmed the news at a press conference on Monday.

“I think that’s negotiation between the chairman and the agent, but we appear to have an agreement with Arsenal [for Jenkinson],” he told a press conference.

“I think we’ve exhausted this country [for transfers] and we’ll be looking to Europe now.”

Jenkinson has fallen way down the pecking order at the Emirates this season making just five appearances in all competitions.

The 24-year-old was also overlooked recently during Hector Bellerin’s absences with Gabriel covering and Ainsley Maitland-Niles coming in for the FA Cup clash against Preston.

Jenkinson appears to have little chance of any game time at Arsenal this season and a January move looks the best option for both club and player currently.
