Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears to have dropped a hint that the club are trying to sign Inter Milan’s wantaway winger Ivan Perisic. Reports emerged over the weekend linking the Gunners with a loan deal for the Croatian and he was subsequently pulled from Inter’s team to face Torino on Sunday after handing in a transfer request. However, Arsenal can only make loan signings in January and Inter have made it clear that they will only let Perisic leave if they receive a transfer fee.
Aubameyang certainly appears keen for the Gunners to splash some cash on Perisic, ‘liking’ a post on Instagram saying that Perisic had asked to leave Inter amid interest from the Gunners. Although both players played for Borussia Dortmund, their paths never crossed, with the Croatian leaving six months before Aubameyang moved to Signal Iduna Park.
Latest reports in Italy suggest Arsenal are working on a compromise and Inter might allow Perisic to leave if a clause is inserted that requires the north Londoners to buy him outright in the summer for around £30millon. Aubameyang has frequently had to play on the wing this season under Unai Emery, and he would no doubt be keen for Perisic to come in and fill the void Arsenal have on the flanks.
