Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are in the final two years of their contract with Arsenal and both players have drawn Arsenal into an unending negotiation over their wage demand…
However, latest reports have indicated that Arsenal are close to a breakthrough in their deals and former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry hopes the players will stay at Arsenal.
Ozil and Sanchez are in talks over fresh terms with both demanding large pay rises.
But Henry has decided to take a positive outlook on the situation.
Henry told Sky Sports: “Maybe there is some stuff that we don’t know about going on behind closed doors.
“Maybe it is done, maybe it is not done. We don’t know.
“Arsene Wenger is clever and has been at this club long enough to know he has to secure those deals.
“Are they both going to stay? I would want them too, of course.
“We all know how important Mesut Ozil is and we all know even more know about Alexis Sanchez [after recent performances].
“Sanchez playing through the middle has been the difference this year.
“What he can do is just amazing on and off the ball but yet, maybe its already done we don’t know about it.
“If you are an Arsenal fan you want Mesut to stay and you want Alexis to stay because I think they are the future of the club.”
