AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang, who has been linked with Arsenal and Everton this summer, has reportedly rejected a move to Spartak Moscow and will be away for 10 days after signing off with stress.
According to Sky Sport Italia via talkSPORT, Niang turned down the opportunity to join Spartak for around £21m this summer and will now rest at home for nearly two weeks to overcome his stress.
The Frenchman was on loan with Watford last season and looked set for a permanent move away from the Serie A, but the offer from the Russian Premier League was rejected and Niang remains a Milan player for the time being.
It’s good news for both Arsenal and Everton, as they haven’t lost out on a player they were linked with for a number of months before the start of the season, but they’ll also be worried for the striker’s well-being.
Niang is believed to prefer to stay in Italy and is hoping fellow Serie A side Torino will make an improved bid from their initial £12m to try and sign the coveted centre-forward.
Arsenal aren’t likely to being any new players in until they trim the squad, while Everton are perhaps keen with Wayne Rooney in attack, with the former Manchester United man scoring two in two in the Premier League.
