This is a news that many Arsenal fans will certainly be happy with. Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has practically confirmed that Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy will be joining Arsenal after the European Championship. Arsenal had triggered the release clause of Jamie Vardy but Leicester City moved quickly to offer him a new contract which is reportedly close in terms of wages and number of years to the one Arsenal offered him.
Player has since then kept everyone guessing as to what he will do, will he accept the new offer from Leicester City or move to Arsenal? The player has kept a sealed lip so far. But Ranieri, while talking to the press in Italy, has confirmed the player is off to Arsenal. Asked by Gazzetta dello Sport whether the reports that Jamie Vardy is off to Arsenal is true, Ranieri simply replied ” Yes, it is true”.
The Italian must surely know something that the media men do not know. Virtually all journalists have confirmed the play is now tilting toward staying at Leicester City but as Ranieri will surely know what’s going on at Leicester, we should be safe to believe Vardy is certainly going to be playing for Arsenal next season.
And Ranieri’s stance probably explains why Leicester City have been linked with the signing of Watford’s Troy Deeney, Lokomotive Moscow’s Ahmed Musa and Sporting Lisbon’s Islam Slimani.
