Bar the signing of Cohen Bramal from Hednesford Town, Arsene Wenger secured deals for several key players but the French tactician is desperate about the future of the club.
According to report, Gideon Zelalem has signed a contract extension with Arsenal.
The American midfielder, who has been on Arsenal’s books since 2013, is expected to complete a loan move to Dutch outfit VVV Venlo.
Borussia Dortmund were said to be targeting a deal for the youngster but Zelalem has reportedly agreed to join the Dutch second division side instead.
Zelalem, 19, was tipped to follow in the footsteps of Jack Wilshere to become a regular for the Gunners as a teenager after impressing in the youth ranks.
However, the United States U23 international has not progressed as expected and spent the majority of last season on loan at Rangers.
But despite his limited impact at the Emirates, De Telegraaf say Wenger has given Zelalem a contract extension to ensure he does not leave for free in the summer.
A former German U17 star, Zelalem has made two appearances for the Gunners in League Cup games this season.
