Typical known for their investment in youngsters, Arsenal are on the verge of signing former Nigeria’s U17 Captain Kelechi Nwakali, per Allnigeriasoccer. The player is expected to arrive the Emirates today and sign a 5-year contract.
Nwakali, 18, drew interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and West Ham following his impressive show-off at the cadet Championship that saw Nigeria won the title but he said he prefers to join Arsenal given the club’s style of play.
He will become the Gunners’ fourth signing this summer after Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano and Rob Holding. However, he will be expected to be at Arsenal academy and walk his way up to the first team of Arsenal.
