Arsenal Japanese forward Takuma Asano has agreed to join German side Hannover 96 on loan next season, according to Arsenal official website.

The 23-year-old joined Arsenal in the summer of 2016 before spending two seasons on loan at VfB Stuttgart where he scored five goals and was part of the team that gained promotion to the Bundesliga in 2017.

Before complete a move to the Emirates Stadium, the forward spent three years with Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the J-League, where he won two league titles, three Super Cups and the 2015 ‘Rookie of the Year’ award.

Asano is unable to play for Arsenal as he is yet to sort out his work permit issues and so, he has had to be sent on loan since his arrival in July 2016.

Asano was signed by Wenger at a time where the Gunners were reportedly desperate for a big name striker to lead the line, and so his recruitment by the former boss came as a shock to fans and supporters of Arsenal.
