Bayern Munich’s CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has told the media that Thomas Tuchel has already signed an agreement to manage his next club and if you follow the rumours it seems like he will be lining up at Stamford Bridge next season.

“Our sports director, Hasan Salihamidzic, has been in talks with coaches (to succeed Jupp Heynckes), and Tuchel was among them,” Rummenigge said at the weekend“He let us know he already signed with another club, but that’s not a problem for us.”

Tuchel is wanted by PSG, Bayern Munich and Chelsea. He had reportedly agreed a deal to join Arsenal but it seems as if this was the fanciful thinking of a German journalist as Tuchel will not be coming to Arsenal.

Why? That’s simple.

Thomas Tuchel will not become the new manager of Arsenal because there will be no vacancy in the summer, meaning Arsene Wenger will manage the side through the 2018/19 season.

“All the indications in Germany, in London, is that he’s not going to Arsenal for the very simple reason that Arsenal have a coach who is not leaving,” Raphael Honigstein told the BBC.

The same reporter recently also offered a clue about where Tuchel’s future lies. Speaking last Monday on the Totally Football podcast, Honigstein, confirmed Rummenigge’s story, saying, “[Tuchel] left a message with Bayern Munich saying ‘Thanks for your interest, but I’m off. I’ve done a deal. I’ve promised someone that I’m going [to them].’”

That ties in with what was reported the weekend before that. Honigstein added, when pressed, “I have it on pretty good authority that Tuchel made a very good impression on [Chelsea director] Marina Granovskaia in a meeting they’ve had [but] I don’t know how recent that meeting was.”

Antonio Conte is believed to be on his way out the door when the season ends and while Arsene Wenger should be following him, the Frenchman looks set to see out the final year of his contract at the club.
