The official countdown to the end of the transfer market started last week but rightly, there’s still enough time to buy players.
From the inception of this transfer window, Arsenal have been the linked to almost all the “available” strikers in Europe but those players have either signed for another club or stayed put in their clubs.
Latest reports says Paris Saint Germain have completed the signing of Spain born striker Jese Rodriguez, who was on the transfer wish list of Arsenal. The 23-year-old signed a long term contract with the Ligue One Champions.
He becomes the French side’s fifth signing of the summer, after Hatem Ben Arfa, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Thomas Meunier, and Giovani Lo Celso.
speaking about the move, the visibly happy striker said.
“‘I am delighted to join Paris Saint-Germain, who have become one of Europe’s most competitive clubs,’ Jese said on his arrival.
He also confirmed that Premier League sides had been interested in his signature.
‘Many Spanish clubs and some English wanted to me. The fact that Unai Emery was here has influenced me. [Chairman] Nasser El Khelaifi and [director of football] Patrick Kluivert convinced me’ he added at his announcement press conference.”
We have seen Higuain and other Arsenal target joined other clubs. However, we hope Wenger is on his toe to get new signings.
