Arsenal have not been brilliant this season and currently, we are 10 points adrift of Chelsea who occupy the top spot of the Premier League table.
The 34-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s stand-out goalkeeper since signing for Chelsea from Rennes in 2004.
However, there have been question marks over his future in north London after he committed a number of high-profile errors for under-performing Arsenal.
The latest came during Arsenal’s dismal 3-1 defeat to London rivals Chelsea – Cech gifted Cesc Fabregas and his former club a simple third goal at Stamford Bridge.
Speculation over his future at the Emirates intensified after the Gunners were linked with a number of goalkeepers, including England star Joe Hart and Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford.
However, Cech’s agent insists his client will remain at Arsenal until 2019, when his current contract expires.
‘Petr’s position at the club is very secure and a summer transfer can be ruled out,’ agent Viktor Kolar said in a statement.
‘Petr will be part of Arsenal until at least the end of his current contract and I am convinced that he will continue to have a leadership role in the team.
‘Petr Cech is a guy who is serious, wants to do well, he prepares well. Overall he’s had a good season.’
