After ending last season as runner up in the Premier League last term, Arsene Wenger is looking to go one better this term and end the unending trophy draught.
Cazorla will be at Arsenal next season after as 12-month extension clause was triggered in his contract, according to FA documents.
The governing body have released a list on their official website of players under written contract registered between 1 and 31 December, 2016.
Cazorla, 32, is among the players on the list, with the FA reporting that the contract was extended on 20 December.
There has been no official announcement from Arsenal about Cazorla’s deal even though they have recently confirmed new contracts for senior men Laurent Koscielny, Olivier Giroud and Per Mertesacker.
The Spanish playmaker is currently sidelined after undergoing surgery on an achilles problem that has kept him out since mid-October.
Cazorla is expected to be out until at least the middle of February after manager Arsene Wenger revealed he has had a follow-up procedure on his achilles heel.
Arsenal have coped well in the absence of Cazorla and managed to maintain their title challenge even though they are eight points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
Cazorla has been sidelined since breaking down during the London giants’ 6-0 Champions League win over minnows Ludogorets on 19 October.
The central midfielder is considered an integral member of Arsene Wenger’s side and is a regular starter when he is fit.
