With Granit Xhaka deal done and Jamie Vardy one looking like it will be announced today, Arsenal have moved quickly to get their third summer signing done according to reports. According to various reports, Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Antonio Colak from Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.
The 22-year-old striker spent last season on loan at Bundesliga two side Kaiserslautern where he played 25 games and found the next seven times, creating two assists as well. Although not a world class record but considering Kaiserslautern are a lowly side with no real creative midfielders, that is quite an impressive turn over.
His impressive performance has seen him been linked with a move to West Ham, Tottenham and various other clubs. He recently got the high praises of his club’s sporting director for his prowress in the air and eye for goal.
“Antonio is a player who brings just the right mentality,” FC Kaiserslautern sporting director, Markus Schupp said back in April.
“He’s a strong-minded player, with a very professional attitude who works a lot on the field for the team and covers large distances.
“He is direct and also strong in the air and has a quality eye for goal.”
Arsenal are said to have agreed personal terms with the player and are ready to pay Hoffenheim as much as 12 million to get the deal done and dusted.
