Leicester City anchor man N’Golo Kante has refuted claims that he refused to sign a contract extension at the King Power Stadium and instead angling for a summer move to North London (Arsenal).
Kante who is currently with the French National team preparing for the European Championships on home soil in the summer had this to say about the rumours, “I am in preparation for the European Championships, I am not thinking about the market.”
“Now I am with Leicester, I do not think of anything else,” he concluded.
Kante was a £4 million summer signing from Caen in the French Ligue 1 last season by Claudio Ranieri who had previously coached Monaco in the Ligue 1 in the 2013-2014 season before being sacked after finishing runners-up to Carlo Ancelotti’s PSG.
The French man went on to claim his place in the club’s starting eleven benching the likes of Gokan Inler and King and forming an impressive partnership with former Manchester United attacking midfielder Danny Drinkwater. Leicester had previously lost veteran Esteban Cambiaso who decided against extending his one year contract
upon it’s expiration instead electing to move to Greek champions Olympiakos which paved the way for Kante in the team.
What this news mean is that It is becoming less unlikely each passing day that Arsenal will successfully sign the highly rated defensive midfielder this summer considering the latest report from the French man.
