N’Golo Kante Rejects Chelsea, To Sign For Arsenal In £20m Deal

Leicester City and French defensive midfielder N’Golo Kante has rejected a move to Chelsea instead preferring to move to Arsenal in the summer according to Le Parisian.

Kante has been a revelation in the Premier League since his move from Caen to Leicester City in 2015. The 25 year old has been so impressive that he was named in the Premier League Team of the Year by his colleagues. Kante is perfect in reading the game, protecting the back four in such a way that he easily starts ball distribution once he disposes an opponent. He is also tireless and knows when exactly to push forward.

Leicester City wouldn’t have won the league without his contribution as he complimented the impressive attacking performances of the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Danny Drinkwater with his defensive marshalling.

It has been rumoured that the midfielder has a release clause of £20 million inserted in his contract which has made him to reject Leicester’s approach for a contract extension. It is reported that Arsenal are interested in signing him to further improve their squad but that is highly unlikely given that Arsenal recently shelled out as much as £30 million for Borussia Monchengladbach’s captain and defensive midfielder Granit Xhaka.

Whatever happens, the case of Kante wi highly be interesting as he is regarded as the best defensive midfielder in the premier league .

  1. N’Golo Kante is a French player and for sure Mr Wenger knows him very well, and if Wenger feels he is suitable and will fit well at Arsenal team , then he can release clause of £20 million as the player himself as rumored is interested to move to Arsenal. If Wenger is not interested in him after signing Xhaka m then nothing could be done . We have to wait and see.
