Arsenal head coach Unai Emery is reportedly eager to bolster his defence by signing another new centre-back.

The Gunners have been busy in the transfer market this summer, welcoming five fresh faces to the Emirates.

But they are showing no signs of stopping there with a potential partner for Sokratis Papastathopoulos in Emery’s sights.

Sport Witness claim Emery has been in touch with Besiktas to make an enquiry regarding Domagoj Vida.

Vida played a starring role as Croatia reached the World Cup final this summer and Besiktas are listening to offers.

This would most likely spell the end of Shkodran Mustafi’s time at Arsenal, with Emery likely to keep faith in youngsters Rob Holding, Callum Chambers, and Konstatinos Mavropanos as understudy to the senior stars and also providing them with competition.

Gooners, do you think this decision is a good one from Emery, or should the boss stick with Mustafi going forward?
