It seems the news that Cazorla may be back to the team against Stoke city on Sunday are way off the mark as Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed the player is still at least 3 more weeks away from playing for Arsenal again. Cazorla came back from International duty with Spain with an Ankle injury with reports claiming the player may be out till the end of October.

However, earlier this week, there were reports on twitter this week that the player may make a sensational return to team this weekend but those reports have now been dismissed by Wenger who had this to say earlier today :

on the team news after Marseille in midweek…

The news we have after the game is quite positive. Mikel Arteta is coming back in the squad maybe. He’s back in full training today so we’ll have to assess how ready he is until Sunday. He could be in the squad.

on Arteta’s return being a boost…

Of course because at the moment, in midfield and upfront, we are short.

on who’s next on the list to come back…

I think the next one that will be back after that is Cazorla. It’s difficult to assess but maybe that is three weeks away.

Rosicky, Oxlade Chamberblain, Diaby, Podolski and Yaya Sanogo are also currently out with various degrees of injuries.
