Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to be very keen to in a matter of days complete the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid. Arsenal have been linked with the signing of various strikers but after having been rejected by Jamie Vardy, Arsenal are now set to be keen to finally get the Morata deal done.
The Spaniard was said to be on his to Chelsea but Chelsea have since then signed Michy Batshauyi from Marseille and are looking like they will be signing their former player Romelu Lukaku and probably won’t be needing Morata which clears the way for Arsenal to sign him.
According to SKysports, the deal could be completed as early as Monday next week. Earlier reports have claimed Wenger is ready to offer the former Juventus player a weekly wage package of £155,000 a week to convince him to move to Arsenal.
Only recently Arsenal’s best ever striker Thierry Henry heaped praises on; “Alvaro Morata reminds me of Torres,” Henry told BBC Sport before Spain’s 2-0 defeat Italy. “He doesn’t want to do a lot in terms of dropping, coming into play but he just wants to go in behind.
“He doesn’t want to come short, he wants to score goals. That’s what I love about him.”
