Arsenal are close to yet another summer signing. After signing Granit Xkaha, Arsenal are said to be ready to trigger the release clause of Jamie Vardy, this is coming two weeks after the Gunners reportedly triggered the release clause of Jamie Vardy.
According to reports from the French media, Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Riyad Mahrez and the player will become a Gunner as the club intends to also trigger his release clause. He has reportedly been offer £120,000 a week which is the same term agreed with Jamie Vardy.
The player has also been linked with a move to PSG but he has made it clear he wants to remain in the Premier League. He also recently confirmed there is a chance of he leaving Leicester City this week.
“It is flattering to hear, as I said nothing is agreed, nothing is done. We will see… For the moment I have not made a decision. We will see. It is possible that I stay, it is possible that I leave. We will see.”
If he signed for Arsenal, which is looking increasingly likely, it will mean Theo Walcott will surely be allowed to leave. Wenger had two weeks ago claim Theo Walcott will not be sold this summer but by signing Mahrez it will only further reduce Walcott’s first team chances which can only force the player out of the club.
It appears Wenger won’t force Walcott out but the player will most likely ask to leave by himself which will work well for the club as if Wenger says he wants Walcott out, buying clubs will underprice him but by selling the Englishman remains part of his plans, it will force potential buyers to cough out more money.
