Medical passed! super striker confirms Arsenal approach, £3m sees deal done

Arsenal are very well known for their ability to nurture youngsters and transform them into professionals.
Nigerian youngster Victor Osimhen has revealed why he rejected a move to Arsenal and chose Wolfsburg.

The 18-year-old signed a three-and-half year deal with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg February, despite interest from the Gunners.

Osimhen, who scored 10 goals to help Nigeria lift the Under-17 World Cup in 2015, completed the switch from Ultimate Strikers Academy on January 1.

And he believes a first-team breakthrough is more likely at Wolfsburg than Arsenal

“There were many clubs that were interested in me,” Osimhen told Bild

“But my choice was Wolfsburg because I think that my development opportunities are highest here.

“If I had gone to Arsenal, for example, I might not have found the route to the first team so quickly.

“I love football and I have worked hard to get where I am now.”

Osimhen, who cost Wolfsburg a cool £3m (€3.5m), added: “I love football and I think it is my vocation. I’ve worked hard to get where I am now.”
