Today is deadline day for the winter transfer window and even if Wenger does not sign any player, we are sure to see a player or two depart the Emirates.
Arsenal starlet Chuba Akom has signed for Championship side Brighton on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old striker, who played a pivotal role in Hull City’s promotion to the Premier League last season, made 41 appearances for the Tigers and managed to find the net seven times in the campaign.
Having seen his first team opportunities limited at Arsenal so far this season, Akpom will again try to help another team seal promotion to the top-flight only this time with Chris Hughton’s Brighton side who sit top of the Championship table.
‘As soon as we allowed Elvis Manu to go out on loan we knew we wanted to add to the forward area, so we are delighted to bring in someone of Chuba’s calibre,’ boss Chris Hughton told the club’s official website.
‘We fought off competition from other clubs to sign Chuba,’ he added.
‘He is a young talent who gained valuable experience with Hull in the Championship last season, will give us really good pace in the forward areas and complement the other strikers at the club.’
Akpom has only made one appearance so far this season, playing his role in a 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup back in September.
